Yu Cheng-Ta , a multimedia artist from Taipei, has created numerous “mockumentary" films which revolves around fictional incidents and events, featuring imaginary characters and groups. His “life theatre" performances are set on the streets of various Southeast Asian cities, resembling reality TV shows. The upcoming stage for Yu Cheng-Ta is Kabukicho, known as "the largest pleasure district in the East."
ASAKUSA are delighted to invite you to a one-night special screening of Tell Me What You Want (2015-2017), previously presented at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen in 2018. The event will also include an urgent talk by the artist, who is currently visiting Japan for research. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a Midsummer Dream in Kabukicho!
